For those .NET developers using Crystal Reports, you have
probably used the devzone
website for .Net developers. This site was a place where you could find
examples in C# and VB.NET among others on how to call a Crystal Report from
your Web Application. There were also forums available there as well.
Recently Business Objects, the company that owns Crystal
Reports, has unveiled a new site called Diamond. This website is meant
to be the main destination for developers of all stripes when you have Crystal questions. To get the low down on Diamond I did an email interview with Todd
Error the manager of the site.
First a little bit on Todd's background. Todd started with
Business Objects, working in Tech Support 8 years ago. He then moved to the
Strategic Alliances team where he worked on special projects. These projects
included things like integration kits with Digital Dashboard, Plumtree Portal and
Siebel with Crystal.
Next, Todd moved into a role working with Microsoft and
integrating Crystal Enterprise into Microsoft CRM. At the time this was the
first "light" version of Crystal Enterprise with an integrated
install which included a lot of custom reports. From there he moved to the
Crystal Enterprise Product team where he was the Product Manager for InfoView,
Crystal Enterprises portal. Todd now works for Tim Lang in Developer
initiatives helping to build and drive a community infrastructure and content
developers.
