Steven started his career in network support and quickly moved into Windows LAN/WAN Administration. Upon completing the MCSE in 1997 he became the first adjunct instructor hired by Hillsborough College, spending each Saturday for the next two years (Summer, Spring, and Fall semesters) conducting courses in Windows NT 4.0 LAN Technologies and Exchange Server.
In 2000 he switched to programming, moving quickly into using C# and Xml Web Services to build multithreaded custom Data Access Layers with MS SQL, followed by server-platforms such as SharePoint and Biztalk. Eventually he added the MCSD .NET (C#) and MCDBA (SQL 2000) to credentials, followed in time by the MCTS in SharePoint development. During 1998 Steven attended two self-funded courses instructed by Ted Pattison, "The Great SharePoint Adventure" and "Developing SharePoint Workflow Templates with Visual Studio".
Employed by a large defense contractor, Steven currently lives in Tampa, with his wife twelve or more small to large parrots, which he rescues, but can never then part with. As time and motivation permit, he continues to write programming articles in the service of other developers who also want more easy to use examples of the second and third most common tasks we all run into. |
