A couple of big announcements this week in the Microsoft developer world. First, Scott Guthrie (the father of ASP.NET) received a well-deserved promotion to Corporate Vice President last week! Congratulations, Scott! Scott runs most of the teams creating cool developer products like Silverlight, AJAX, ASP.NET, WPF, and more. He’s also delivering one of the keynotes at MIX in two weeks in Las Vegas. Which brings me to the second announcement, which is that MIX08 has now officially sold out. I believe this is the third year running that this show has sold out, which is quite cool given that the whole thing is a very different approach to conferences than TechEd or PDC. This will be the first year that I’m able to attend the show, and I’m really looking forward to it. There should be a lot of exciting new releases (pre-releases, actually) at the show, and I’m looking forward to new ASP.NET MVC and Silverlight bits especially. And if you were hoping to attend for the content, don’t despair: all of the sessions will be recorded and published at visitmix.com.
