As Scott Guthrie recently announced and thousands of developers have repeated, Microsoft has made the source code for the ASP.NET MVC Framework available to the public. It is available through the ASP.NET CodePlex project. The CodePlex project is a good place to download the current preview of MVC as well as the source code for the project. It is nice to have this code freely available as it gives developers great insight into how these tools work. I expect in a year or so, ASP.NET MVC will be a reasonably common platform for developing new web applications. For now we can sit and wait for source code changes on the CodePlex project, and perhaps we’ll have a good idea of where this new technology is going. Some people, I am certain, will find bugs in the code, and instead of waiting for a fix from Microsoft will roll their own fix for a local copy of ASP.NET MVC.
