LINQ stands for Language Integrated Query which allows you to write T-SQL like expressions against collections in C# or VB.NET.
DLINQ (now LINQ for SQL) allows you to perform data centric operations using LINQ queries.
DLINQ also allows you to create an object relational mapping between the C#/VB.NET classes and the database tables.
