Abstract
The development of a directory based portal requires a huge effort from number of developers. Why not use ready made software instead of reinventing the wheel? In this review, Anand test drives IndexU 5.4, a search engine optimization tool, in his own site and records his impressions. He first discusses the necessity of the software and then delves into installation and the features included with the product. Anand also examines the basic functioning of both the back-end and front-end system with the help of screenshots and also pin points some of the minor problems he faced with the software.

Introduction

Web sites provide valuable information. For instance, if you would like to learn C# you can now access articles and other related information from the web. Even though you can find all the information with the help of search engines, it is difficult to isolate them into separate categories. This means there is a huge demand for those websites which provide specific information in the form of a directory. It helps you to retrieve specific content easily as you only need to click the relevant category or alphabetical letter. It is tedious to create new software with complete features from scratch. There is a growing demand for an application which satisfies the requirements of a directory based software.

This company believes its funny playing word games with its customers. There's a reason for you to not buy 'ready made' software. As a customer I felt completely betrayed & fooled to have paid for free unlimited software upgrades for software the developers never even cared to continue upgrading. Save your money.

Seems you haven't explore IndexU custom field feature yet. This is one of the thing I like about IndexU. With this feature, you can build almost any kind directory type you want :). Very useful feature, especially if you want to build niche directories.
